New double septum acoustical covers

We’ve just installed more covers on vessels-V 31,32,33,34. With this latest addition, we’ve spent over $250,000 on sound attenuation so far.

Remember the enclosure we built around our Guild skid last March? In response to some more feedback and sound testing, we’ve gone ahead and added special custom-made louvers to the enclosure as well. These should eliminate the last bit of sound that could possibly come from this equipment.

We’ve just received the acoustical cover for V-1580. We’re very slowly blanketing our noisy vessels in the processing plant with thick acoustical covers, trying to ensure that none of our neighbors are inconvenienced at all by any of the sounds made while we’re processing our green gas. We just finished up the enclosure that our consultant recommended we install around the valving skid for the Guild system. We’ll have another sound expert back to measure it officially, but we can already tell a huge improvement.

The custom double-walled acoustical blanket arrived and we installed it the very next day. Already we can hear a noticeable reduction in sound here at the plant. Hope it’s noticeable further away, too.

We’ve hired yet another consultant to help us identify more sources of sound and noise. The survey attempts to identify specific root causes for specific noises and draw up steps to correct or mitigate them.

Though we’ve had access to the detailed results from the last sound study for a few weeks now, various operational issues at the plant have prohibited us from successfully diagnosing more specific sources. We simply haven’t had the plant online consistently for long enough to be able to monitor specific components during normal operations. But now that we’ve run steadily for a few days, we’ve been able to glean some more information. What we’ve found out is that there are unfortunately a handful of distinct sounds which the plant will make when operating normally. The good news is that most of these noises are produced by a handful of the hundreds of valves which are continuously adjusting and resetting in the normal operation of the plant. We’ve measured up the offending components and ordered custom ‘blankets’ to surround them and absorb most of the sound. Will update when they’ve arrived and we’ve installed them.
